Nuevo sencillo de Blur para el Record Store Day

18 Apr

The Cosmos Must’ve Finally Aligned: BLUR Confirm Reunion Show!

10 Dec

Blur, one of the best Brit Pop bands in the history of the planet Earth have finally confirmed a London Hyde Park reunion show on July 3rd 2009 subsequent to a nearly 10 year absence. After a lukewarm relationship with Blur on their last days together as a foursome and a very public “I want to do my own thing” sort of mindset; ruler guitarist Graham Coxon (the quiet one) will finally join Alex James, Dave Rowntree and Damon Albarn for the first time since their Royal Festival Hall performance in 2000. Now, one has to undoubtedly love or at least appreciate Graham Coxon’s great solo records and the mainstream pop oriented public has a real soft spot for the successfully executed Gorillaz; as well as some interesting unconventional Damon Albarn projects here and there. But it was about fucking time these mates reunited for the sake of planting awesomeness back in good pop music. Especially for Coxon, who’s American Indie rock inspired riffs (Pavement, Yo la tengo, Sonic Youth), showered the band with alternative inventive channels in the mid to late 90’s. And was the main reason after all, Blur stopped making music in the first place after his departure.
